Abbas-Ali Sadeghipour was born into a Muslim family. In his youth he joined the Army and rose to the rank of Colonel and subsequently was posted to Shiraz. It was there that he declared his belief in Baha’u’llah.
On 12 March 1982, Abbas-Ali Sadeghipour was arrested in Shiraz and imprisoned in Adilabad prison. He was executed by firing squad on 15 July 1982. His family was not informed of his execution until three days later. His body was laid to rest by his family and in accordance with Baha’i law.
